I am an Independent Educational Psychologist, registered through the British Psychological Society and the Health and Care Professionals Council and have CRB clearance.
I qualified as a teacher in 1982, quickly choosing to specialise in children with special educational needs. During a 14-year career in secondary teaching, I worked in mainstream schools and with children with emotional and behavioural difficulties, finally as a special educational needs co-ordinator in a local comprehensive school.
I trained as an Educational Psychologist at Exeter University in 1996 and worked for several years for the Psychological Service of Somerset Educational Authority, providing primary, secondary and special schools with psychological assessment, support and training, as well as being the seconded Educational Psychologist to the Somerset Youth Offending Team.
In 2001 I left the service to work independently and since then I have developed a busy practice, carrying out assessments for children, students and adults across the south and south-west of the country.
